Ushering in 2014!

It's almost the end of January, New Year's has come and gone and we're now ushering in the Chinese New Year. The themes for this month's orders have been very Floral, with lots of rosettes and cherry blossom-like detailing.

I'm taking a 2 week break over CNY *yay!*, bakes shall resume mid-Feb :)

Hey Mickey! You're so fine, you blow my mind!

Fondant covered Red Velvet Cake. (Almost) Too cute to slice up :)

Down The Rabbit Hole...

...Soon her eye fell on a little glass box that was lying under the table: she opened it and found in it a very small cake, on which the words "EAT ME" were beautifully marked in currants. "Well, I'll eat it," said Alice...

I'm just slightly obsessed with everything Alice, so I was keen to attempt this Mad Hatter's theme cake (even though I was equal parts freaked out with working on another fondant cake!)

The Top Hat is constructed of layers of Red Velvet cake, accessorised with a gold pocket watch and roses. The Chocolate cupcakes (topped with a simple Vanilla Buttercream) were accented with other Alice inspired fondant decorations.

Easter Bakes Etc.

Nothing cheers me up as much as cinnamon-scented sweet bread fresh out of the oven. A spin on the traditional Hot Cross Bun, I made a Cranberry Citrus Peel version  laced with a blend of sweet spices and lacquered with a Citrus glaze. I may just make these year round, too yummy!

Customised Full Moon Cookies for a gorgeous baby girl! I'm currently obsessed with Cinnamon, so it's a Cinnamon Orange cookie decorated with fondant and royal icing.

More Red Velvets :) LAFB's signature cupcake.

Rose, Rose I Love You

2 variations of a Carrot Cake: one finished with pumpkin seeds and dried apricots; the other with walnuts and cinnamon

It's looking like a bright 2012 :)

2011 slipped by so quickly! So now I'm back in Kuching and slowly getting back into the groove of things, squeezing in some bakes in between. So far, the new year is looking Bright and Cheerful!
